    Indus Motor Company (IMC) is a joint venture between the House of Habib, Toyota Motor Corporation Japan (TMC), and Toyota Tsusho Corporation Japan (TTC) for assembling, progressive manufacturing and marketing of Toyota vehicles in Pakistan since July 01, 1990. IMC is engaged in sole distributorship of Toyota and Daihatsu Motor Company Ltd. Vehicles in Pakistan through its dealership network.

    IMC was incorporated in Pakistan as a public limited company in December 1989 and started commercial production in May 1993. The shares of the company are quoted on the stock exchanges of Pakistan. Toyota Motor Corporation and Toyota Tsusho Corporation have 37.5% stake in the company equity. The majority shareholder is the House of Habib.

    The main product offering includes several variants of the flagship “Corolla” in the passenger cars category and “Hilux” in the light commercial vehicle segment, including four-wheel drive. The manufacturing facility and offices are spread over 105 acres at Port Bin Qasim, Karachi. The product is delivered to the end customer, nationwide, through a strong network of 35 independent Dealerships spread across the country.

    Over the years, IMC has made large scale investments in enhancing its own capacity and in meeting customer requirement for new products. Today, Corolla is the largest selling automotive brand in Pakistan and it also has the distinction of being the No.1 volume seller in Toyota’s Asian Market. The company invests heavily in training its 2,000 strong workforce of team members and management employees, thus creating a high performance culture with empowered teams working seamlessly across processes in search of quality and continuous improvement.

    The company has played a major role in the development of the entire value chain of the local auto industry and is proud to have contributed in poverty alleviation at the grass root level by nurturing localization. This has created thousands of job opportunities through the transfer of technology to more than 60 vendors supplying parts to the company.
